Q. How do I get a library card?
A. Library cards are free for all Cannon County Residents. Identification with your name, current address, and phone number is required.
Q. How long may I keep a book?
A. Books maybe checked out for 2 weeks at a time and up to 25 books per card. If books are not on a reserve waiting list, you renew twice for an additional 2 weeks each renewal.
Q. How long may I keep a DVD?
A. Up to four new DVDs and a total of 10 DVDs can be checked out per cardholder. DVD check out for 1 week and new DVDs cannot be renewed.
Q. How long may I keep an audio book?
A. Audios checked out for 2 weeks and up to five audio books per cardholder, with the same renewal options as books.
Q. Where do I return library materials?
A. Items you return to the circulation desk during business hours at both locations. A book drop is available at both locations after business hours.
Q. Can I reserve an item if it is checked out?
A. Yes. Reserves can be placed at both locations and/or online. We will notify you when the item is return and held at the reserve shelf for seven days.
Q. What is Inter-Library Loan?
Books have been in publication over the last six months and requested from other libraries in the state. Genealogy and Reference items are not available through Inter-Library Loan.
Q. What are fines for overdue material?
A. All materials except DVDs are subject to a fine of 10 cents per day, not including holidays or special closing. DVDs are subject to a fine of $1.00 per day per movie.
Q. Can reference books be checked out?
A. Reference books cannot be check out. A photocopier is available at both locations for 15 cents per page.
Q. Do you offer computers and WI-FI?
A. Yes. We have computers and WI-FI at both locations. Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher, Access, and PowerPoint are available on all public computers. Access is without charge and is on a first come served basis.
Q. Do you offer Fax services?
A. Yes. Faxing is available at both locations. Long Distance is $1.00 for first page and 50 cents for each additional page. Local and Toll Free is 50 cents for first page and 25 cents for each additional page. If you want to receive a fax at any location, it is 1.00 per page.
Q. How old do I have to be to get a card?
A. Children five to 16 years of age may get a card with the ID and signature of their parent or guardian. Adults must be 17 of age and older with proper ID. Lost or stolen replacement cards are $2.00 each.
Q. Fines?
A. If a patron's fines exceed $5.00, he or she will not be alllowed check out privileges until they have brought their account below the $5.00 limit.
Q. How do I set up a PIN number to reserve books online?
A. Just call or stop by Adams Memorial or Auburntown Branch. The PIN must be 4 to 8 numbers, letters, or a combination of both. PIN will be available after patron's information is put into publication system.
